Included with the album is a "virtual booklet" similar to the booklet insert that comes with most CDs as well as printable album art.

Winter Orchids is available in a wide variety of audio formats including MP3, FLAC, Apple lossless, etc.

All proceeds (after PayPal's transaction fee) go to Child's Play Charity, a wonderful, low overhead organization that runs toy-drives for children's hospitals.

Although you may choose to download Winter Orchids for free if you wish, we strongly encourage you to purchase the album, as the money will be going not to record labels or even ourselves, but a very, very good cause.

As I stare in reverence of the tallest oak Mother Darkness, in this night watch over me As we wait for the world to emerge from your cloak my white candle burns for thee We wait for the sun again to pierce the night Sit at your window and weave my destiny I gaze upon the mistletoe and await the light Sit on your throne and weave our destiny My son's light snuffed, taken from Asgard cut down by a brother who could not see For a promise never made we traveled so far and my sight forth and back did no good for me A plant so young, a dart not innocent in the the hands of a trickster leading a fool to bring about a winter full of discontent Mock my tears with white pearls beautiful and cruel Pluck a berry Steal a kiss but when the berries are gone kissing privilages end Mistletoe Mysterious Hearts will be broken and hearts will mend Pretty poison Killing cure do you try now to atone for what you have done Sickles of gold Kisses sweet and pure Such reverence is yours in the absence of the sun We gather now below the tallest oak and bring forth white bulls with virgin horns With gold sickles and the whitest cloak priests harvest gods plants while the world is reborn We feast and drink in merriment as is Druid custom and Celtic way for such great gifts our gods have sent a ray of hope on the year’s darkest day That's all in the past, and this is now Two lovers engaged in the sweetest dance and they come to a stop below a mysterious bough No time for ancient ways they're here for romance No berry gets plucked even after they kiss and swirl away, dancing by candlelight Such a strange legacy has led us to this the blooming of love and romance on a winter's night

I came out to the silence to sit under eves and watch watch the dark crevices where nocturnal creatures hide I came out to the silence to sit and watch watch creatures hide between the trees Snow falls falls for hours Snow falls, light and delicate falls for hours touching afraid to touch light and delicate Snow falls snow falls, light and delicate alighting on the world gingerly almost afraid to touch falls for hours The pure white blankets the trees Time only passes as snow grows thick Snow falls, light and delicate Snow falls on the evergreens I came to watch to sit in silence Time only passes as snow grows thick Cold providing warmth warmth for the hibernating Earth I came out to the silence to sit under eves and watch watch the dark Snow falls for hours Snow falls falls for hours I sit and watch watch for hours Snow falls on the evergreens I came to the silence Snow falls Snow falls on the evergreens Snow falls light and delicate Snow falls on the evergreens Snow falls light and delicate falls for hours falls for hours watch the falling snow fall for hours Snow falls on the evergreens

We took the Bart train from the East Bay the morning fog hadn't begun to give way With coats tight and smiles on our faces got some coffee hopped on MUNI and began our day. Greeting us when we stepped onto Haight street, smells of petuli and Thai cuisine We hit Amoeba and bought each other LPs and talked about what more the day would bring The activity list for Image And Nation Said Grace Cathedral was our next destination Went to the labyrinth for some Yule meditation but the coffee we were drinking ruined our concentration Back downhill to Pier 39 our coats were opened and we were feelin' fine At Ghiradelli square we wanted to dine so we got our feet movin' cuz it was chocolate time In accordance with the cycle of Earth it's time for the sun's death and rebirth Over Bay Bridge, by BART or the Golden Gate we've come to Ocean Beach to celebrate We raise a toast and have a cheer for the true ending and the start of the year There's no other place we'd rather go We're here to celebrate Yule in San Francisco Solstice in San Francisco With chocolate in our bellies and coffee in hand we just wanted to sit and survey the land This time we decided to travel in style so we hopped a cable car and rode around for a while The sun was kinda sinking when we got to the zoo so we finished our coffee and quickly walked through No time for Alcatraz but maybe in a week or two For now we've got folks to meet and we've got things to do Down on Ocean Beach Evan was waiting there with Sarah, Hellen and Travis who had firewood prepared Gaby, Mahon and John very soon came along and the eggnog Christian brought with him was mighty strong Steve and Kellie brought beer, which made Ryan cheer Terra, Amy and Molly called to say they were near Jill and Nick soon showed, with Ali in tow Shea played guitar, while Christelle took photos. In accordance with the cycle of Earth it's time for the sun's death and rebirth Over Bay Bridge, by BART or the Golden Gate we've come to Ocean Beach to celebrate We raise a toast and have a cheer for the true ending and the start of the year There's no other place we'd rather go We're here to witness winter solstice in San Francisco Solstice in San Francisco

about

Winter Orchids is a special winter album that will only be available until the end of December. The album celebrates the majesty of winter and the joy of the holiday season.

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ:

As stated, we are using this album to raise money for Child's Play Charity. As an added bonus and "thank you" for helping us to help children in need, the 5 people who choose to pay the most for the album will receive special edition CDs of the album. Each special edition will be hand burned and stamped by Image And Nation. Each will come in a one of a kind case hand painted by Kelly Smith (the album artist). Each album will be signed and numbered by Glenn Grubbs and Christa Durand.
If you pay a particularly high amount we may try to throw some other cool stuff in there for you.

If you are wondering how the money will break down and how much of it will go to the children it breaks down like this. PayPal will of course charge a transaction fee. This is normal and unavoidable. Child's Play manages to keep a very low overhead (2-3%). Image And Nation will not be keeping ANY money. We have no managers, no label, no one taking a slice of the pie. The personnel who worked with us on this album generously donated their talents. So there will be NO profits on our end. Every last penny we get will be donated to Child's Play.
